Casa Milanga is an exploration of contemporary tropical architecture that engages in dialogue with the dry forest landscape of Guanacaste. The project embraces honest materials such as concrete, wood, and natural stone, paired with an open layout that encourages natural ventilation, deep shade, and a fluid relationship between indoors and outdoors.
A majestic existing Guanacaste tree becomes the project’s focal point and the heart of the spatial experience. The architecture is organized to frame it, allowing its presence to shape the views, the shade, and the direct connection between the house and its natural surroundings.
Casa Milanga is a tropical refuge designed to slow down and inhabit the landscape with simplicity, openness, and respect for the climate.
